Mr Mike Proctor

Mike Proctor is Vice President for Global Initiatives at the University of Arizona. Mike facilitates the implementation of international programs in a wide range of areas, including large research initiatives, faculty mobility, study abroad, student exchange, passports and visas, and strategic multinational collaborations. Mike’s office also supports all incoming international students (from 113 countries this year), and over 1200 visiting scholars annually.

Mike also has an appointment in the UA’s School of Natural Resources and the Environment, has taught in the UA Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science and the UA College of Education. Mike has a long affiliation with the University of Arizona, including a 1983 bachelor's degree in renewable natural resources, and a 1988 J.D. He has worked in natural resource positions in Arizona and New Mexico, and practiced law for 12 years, including five years in private practice and seven years as a UA attorney; Mike also served as director and assistant vice president for corporate relations for the UA; associate dean for external affairs in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences; and previously coordinated the UA’s distance education and branch campus programs.
